Seminar Civil Society, Business and Biodiversity

Date: 26 September 2007
Venue: Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon

Introduction

Companies across Europe are voluntarily engaging in initiatives to protect biodiversity.

The scale of this challenge requires finding consistent commitments and solutions that take into account the specificities of different economic sectors and nature conservation needs.

This seminar, promoted by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Fundação Cuidar O Futuro and Quercus ANCN, aimed to involve civil society in a long-term discussion and work process on this topic, also contributing some reflections for the International Conference on Business and Biodiversity, promoted in November by the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union.
